Gold Is the New Tupperware, and You're Invited to the Party - WSJ.com

Gold Is the New Tupperware, and You're Invited to the Party - WSJ.com: "The 1950s were big for Tupperware parties. The 1970s were hot for Mary Kay cosmetics. As this decade hobbles to a close, a new kind of social gathering is invading America's living rooms: the gold party."

I haven't heard of these but they certainly seem interesting. It certainly raises the awareness of gold. I have noticed that the jewelry shops and pawn shops are putting out 'We buy gold' signs.
The magnet trick is pretty good to know though.
